I need a facade inspection done but the cost is huge
05/03/2011
This is a common scenario. You’ve got repairs that need to be done on the facade of your building, but you aren’t sure how extensive they are and how much money it’s going to cost. You’ve asked an engineer or a builder to take a look at the facade but just doing the inspection is blowing out your budget.
Don’t go down this route. Get an industrial rope access or abseiling facade inspection done. This is the cheapest, simplest and most effective way to inspect a facade and find out what needs to be done to it to get it back into working order.
Rope access cuts out so much hassle from these types of jobs. It’s silly not to use abseilers for this type of task.

Who should I get to survey the facade of my building?
20/02/2011
If you need a facade survey, there’s a couple of ways to go about it. One is to get an engineer’s inspection, which can sometimes be the right way to go, depending on the problem. However, this costs huge amounts of money and if they need to get to difficult to reach places, the access equipment alone can cost significantly.
The most affordable and intelligent way to go about surveying a building’s exterior for repair needs, is to undertake a facade survey by abseiling.
Rope access is the best way to approach looking at the exterior areas of a facade to identify any obvious repair needs. Call an abseiling professional to find out how they can present you with information which enables you to make solid, informed decisions based upon the current status of your facade.

Facade survey by abseiling can save time and money
08/02/2011
Industrial rope access facade surveys can be a great alternative to engaging an engineer to visually inspect the facade of a structure using EWP, scaffolding or swinging stages.
Some engineers have in fact taken to abseiling to facilitate easy facade inspections, however they tend to still charge very high rates for these services. For basic facade inspections to isolate items such as concrete repair, it can be very cost effective and also efficient to engage abseil building maintenance personnel to descend the facade of the building and provide a report on any issues of concern.
Picking a company who also does the type of repair work that they are assessing is always a good idea as this will cut down on overall costs at the end of the project and means that the people who surveyed the building are familiar with the scope of works to be undertaken.

Do you need a facade inspection?
22/12/2010
Many large buildings develop various remedial repair needs over time, particularly on their facades where weather and movement can cause typical issues such as concrete spalling.
Often, the facade of the building is left until the repair needs are significant and this is simply due to access to inspect being impossible for most building and facilities managers. One way to keep track of the state of your building’s facade is to have a rope access facade inspection.
Abseilers can descend every square inch of the facade of your building and conduct a visual inspection, documenting repair needs and reporting back to you on what exists in areas where it is difficult to see.

Rope access facade survey

If you have works required on the facade on your building but you are not sure to what extent, it may be a prudent measure to engage abseilers to undertake a facade survey on a visual basis for relatively low costs, before you engage an engineer to do a full scale inspection and report. Engineers are known to be extremely expensive and before you go throwing many thousands of dollars at a problem you are not fully aware of the scale of, why not just get a quick visual inspection done by abseilers to ascertain the amount of repair needs on your facade.
Industrial rope access facade survey can be conducted for very little cost in comparison and abseilers are often seen doing these preliminary inspections on city buildings and other structures.
