Our team last week have successfully completed confined spaces works in a internal riser of a building where there was only 300mm tolerances to fit down, our industrial rope access team abseiled down the internal riser to carry out rendering and joint sealing, to prevent air seeping through the riser stack.

These works had to be carried out with a special rescue system so the abseiler could descend down then be able to be hauled back up the top.

With confined spaces you can never be too careful so we had specialized ventilation equipment and top rigging to keep the confined spaces personnel safe at all times with two roof spotters and standby rescue op.
